After relaxing Vinh Long we head on to Can Tho, the major hub within the Mekong Delta and the biggest city around - over 1 million inhabitant. Also, the Vietnamese National Day is approaching, it's the 30th of April. Of course, national hero Ho-Chi-Minh is there, too :-)
Can Tho has a nice river promenade...
... and some funky light things going on...
... and also some nice street food spots!
We decide to do a second Meking-tour, as the nearby floating market Cai Rang is quite big. It starts at 5 a.m. and we get to see the sunrise, very beautiful!
After a 40-minute boatride we're there! Of course, many other tourist boats are there, too. But it's worth it, as the market is way bigger than Cai Be Market in Vinh Long. Here some impressions...
We move on and here some shots of the scenery we pass by...
We then arrive at a second floating market: Phong Dien. It's already a bit later (ca. 9 a.m.) and the market is rather small - but it's still nice!
Later on we also pass by some beautiful, smaller canals...
And here is our always smilling captain :-) Not only does she navigate our boat, but also while doing that, she miraculously tinkers those amazing palm-leave handicrafts! Wow, we are impressed!
