Arriving in Siem Reap we knew that the nearby temples of Angkor would be a highlight - but we didn't know how breathtaking they are! The site is just huge and there are many temples, too many to count! Talking of Angkor Wat means just one temple, but the whole temple site - Angkor - is streching over 400 km2!!! And most of the temples are over 1000 years old...
We buy ourselves a 3-day ticket and immerse into an ancient, mystique world for the next days. On day one we start with a tuktuk-tour one could call the "big circuit" - the idea is to first see the lesser known (and usually smaller) temples and then on day 2 do the "small circuit" and go for Angkor Wat at sunrise :-) On day 3 we rent some bikes and explore more...
So here we are at the first temple, Preah Khan...
