Some
weeks ago we notice that the Holiday-Season has started – it’s getting fuller
and fuller! It peaks now during Christmas and that’s why we already made a reservation
for a hotel in Mérida several weeks in advance! As it turns out, Mérida (near
the 1 million mark) is a nice town to stay and lots of people do the same as we
do: spend the Christmas Days here.
As
you can see, lots of colonial buildings.
And what to
do on Christmas-Day when it’s really hot? Right, visit a museum with air-con
:-)
Of course,
we try some Mexican Wine – it is pretty good!
Also, we
eat a thing called “Machete” – here you can see where the name comes from!
We undertake
a daytrip to the ruins of Mayapán – they’re not very known and thereby not so
crowded. Muy bonito!
