Mai Chau

After two huge cities we are on the countryside - finally, because we love nature and the rural life. Well, after these metropoles maybe everybody would desire that.

Mai Chau is sooo beautiful. Rice fields and rice terraces everywhere. It's also quite touristy but we find a great Farm-Homestay at the end of the village. So we have peace: No tourists, just a lot of chickens, dogs, birds, cicada, spiders etc.

Vietnamese coffee is great!

And so is the food - our host Mama cooks!

Cool story: during our first dinner a Vietnamese couple starts to talk to us in English. We are amazed, because the people here are very shy. So luckily we got to know some locals. It is funny to talk to them and get to know a bit of a Vietnamese, well more Hanoi'ish lifestyle. Yes, they are from Hanoi and for Vietnam well earners. As it is Saturday night and Mai Chau is going crazy, we do the same. At a big field there are a lot of fires, DJ desks and sugar cane bars... And big groups of amused Vietnamese from Hanoi having a grand party.

For the next day our new friends invite us to explore with them the close-by National Park Pu Luong. They have their own car and it's an absolutely great offer! As we can't say their names we stick with the meaning of their names: she's called Flower and he's called Mr. Strong ;-)

Nature is breathtaking!!!

As they have to go back to Hanoi just the two of us have this great dinner.

The next day we make an adventurous and wonderful hike. We meet only locals, no tourists, as we are really off-road not to say a bit lost. With the help of locals, we make our way back ;)
