Playa El Tunco

It’s time again for sun, beach and sea. We drive by bus and pickup to the pacific coast of El Salvador and decide to settle down at Playa El Tunco. We’re looking forward to some relaxing and contemplative days – after all it’s advent season ;-)

Yes, Santa Claus is coming…

El Salvador - Suchitoto

We leave the hondurian highlands behind us and enter country number 5: El Salvador! We get lucky and catch a direct bus towards San Salvador, the capital, and transit to Suchitoto, the cultural capital. Suchitoto is a picturesque, small town with a very nice "plaza central" and its church.

Also, there's a lovely lake nearby with great views.

Of course, we now eat "pupupas" almost everyday, the national main food. Basically it's a tortilla (with rice or corn flour) filled with either beans or vegetables and cheese - or there is the option "pupusa loca", with everything at once! Very delicious and low priced!
