Bagan is just breathtaking! From the 9th to 13th centuries, the city was the capital of the Pagan Kindom,
the first kingdom that unified the regions that would later constitute
modern Myanmar. During the kingdom's height between the 11th and 13th
centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone, of which
the remains of over 2,200 temples and pagodas still survive to the
present day.
We rent an e-bike, well, an electrical moto bike. It's great to be on our own account on the road. The Bagan archeological zone streches over ca. 36 km² in a quilted landscape. See for yourself...

We don't know how many of these remaining 2'200 temples and pagodas we visited - for sure a lot - and they all have their singularity.
As diverse the temples and pagodas are from the outside, they are from the inside. Many different Buddhas and statues in different poses...
So is the Myanmar typical cuisine! A vegetarian meal.
The most paths are dirt roads. So it can get pretty adventurous.
Ok, we also are excited to see some snakes being in love or so...
For sure highlights are the sunrises and sunsets. Though June is rainy season in Myanmar, we have no rain - only clouds. But we prefer clouds a million times more than masses of tourists - we almost have Bagan for ourselves. So great!!
Our last highlight is to stop by the only look-out tower called Bagan Nan Myint Tower, 60 meters high. We are the only ones on top ;-)
Good bye Bagan, you're wonderful!
