Uxmal

After a week chilling in Chelem, we continue our journey to Uxmal - more ruins! We stay at a very nice hotel close to the ruins, as there's no city or village nearby - it's in the middle of nowhere!

Here's the main pyramid of Uxmal, pretty impressive.

Those steps were a nice workout after chilling a week :-)

Uxmal is well preserved and has undergone many reconstructions making it a highlight.

Finally we see some iguanas!! We really missed those lovely creatures!

Here's the ring for the "juego de pelotas", an ancient "game" of the Mayas - the winners became the new governors and the losers were killed after the game...

Also, Uxmal has lots of stone carvings.

And we move on to Valladolid - here we're waiting for our bus. No, those are not bodybags, but our rucksack-bags :-)
