Wayanad District

From Kochin we took the bus to Kalpetta, which is located within the Wayanad District. Full nature around us! We hired a driver and did a nice tour to a waterfall, viewpoint, temples and then the highlight: the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary! Here we switched vehicles and drove on with a jeep, driver and some sort of guide. And we got very lucky :)

Some more teaplantages...

 The Waterfall

Viewpoint

Temple-fun

And now the park... Deers just by the side of the road

A big herd of wild elephants, just amazing!

And then: A mother elephant and her baby just a few meters away from us! The mother tried to attack us several times… Then also came the male elephant… He also tried to attack us, meaning he started to run towards our jeep… fricking adrenaline!!! A beautiful experience!

And an old bison :)

Later we also headed for this beautiful ruin temple in the middle of the forest… What a day!

The next day we took the bus to Mysore. This means we left Kerala behind us and are now in Karnataka, a new state. Let’s see how it is! Here some first impressions out from the bus.

Soon more :)
