León

From Pochomil we moved on to beautiful León, full of life and churches :-) It's super warm here, sunny and we enjoy the blue sky!! The city feels very cosmopolitan for Nica standards and it has lots of great restaurants and bars - we're having a great time!

The Cathedral

It's wonderful to walk along the alleys - the houses are very colourful and there's an unique mood during sunset-time.

We did a nice city-walk and passed through several local markets - lots to see!!!

Transport contrasts :-)

During the civil war León was a hotspot of the Sandinistas and therefore bloody fights. Mural paintings remind of the lost sons of the city.

The mercado central offers a multitude of amazing food!!!

Highlight: Getting up the rooftop of the Cathedral with amazing views of the surrounding volcanoes!! You just have to figure out how to walk on those unsucured roofs...

Pochomil

We took a timeout at a lovely beach called Pochomil - a really nice recomendation of Sis' Rahel - Thanks for that! Here you see our hostal.

That's a typical and lovely afternoon scenario - with visit of the granny, uncle and cousin.

Yes, we do love sunset pics - especially at the beach - enjoy!

Interruption of some sporty, well more speedy activity :)

X-Mas

This is our first hot and sunny Christmas - in Nicaragua. Somehow it does not feel like a "normal" Christmas with snow and cold days. It's rather happy times with sun, blue skies and chilling out at the veranda! Here were all together with Mama Chilo :-)

We did some delicious "tres leches", a typical nicaraguan desert, very sweet and soooo good!!

Our little friend from the closet...

Everybody getting ready for Christmas Eve. Shaving open door :-)

All together the night of the 24th! Alfredo, Noëmi, Ana Carolina, Chalia, Mama Chilo, Nacho, Christina and Enrique

Christmas-Tree feelings ;)

Super delicious Christmas Dinner with typical "relleno"!!

The 25th all uncles and cousins and wifes and grand-children came to celebrate!! Here we all pose for an unique, epic family-shot :-) Merry Christmas you all!

Reserva National Chocoyero El Brujo

Like this it could look when you have to take a full bus and beeing the last to hop on - well, we had to stop the bus because "we" couldn't breath anymore... Yes, they thought we're really strange :-)

We had a really nice walk through a secondary rainforest, the Reserva Chocoyero. It all started with an explanation of all the exisiting snakes nearby...

Almost like in India ;) The official and unique cabs which can handle the dirt roads.

Welcome Sis' Christina

With slight delay Christina arrived in Managua and we headed to La Concepcion for the Christmas Days. It's truck time again :-)

All together at la Finca enjoying ourselves with some coffee!

Managua

Managua, the Capital of Nicaragua.
Here we are at the Malecon, enjoying the breeze at the lake-front.

After a great lunch we did some sight-seeing nearby.

It's Christmas time in hot Managua. It's a very strange setting for all those "cold and snowy Christmas" associations!
